Rolex
At Crockett & Daw, we understand the sentimental and financial value of your Rolex. We offer a full range of services to maintain and repair your watch in order to ensure it may run for decades to come. With years of experience working with Rolex models of all ages, we are well placed to work on your watch, whether it be the latest "Pepsi" GMT-Master or a vintage "Bubble Back".
Rolex Servicing Process
We stock an extensive collection of spare parts covering a range of Rolex watch models, with all servicing and repair work carried out on-site, in our insured, specialist servicing workshop. Using state of the art machinery and equipment we are able to bring your watch back to manufacturer standards in both functionality and appearance.
During the servicing of your watch, the movement is dismantled into it's individual components, with each being checked for wear or damage, and then cleaned using our ultrasonic cleaning machine. The movement is then reassembled and lubricated adhering to manufacturer guidelines throughout.
The case and bracelet are cleaned, with new gaskets fitted to ensure water resistance, before the movement, case and bracelet are reunited ready for post-service testing.
Case and bracelet refinishing is available during the servicing process as an optional extra, should you wish to bring the aesthetics of your watch back to showroom condition.

Rolex History
Founded in 1905, by Hans Waldorf, the company was originally based in London, England but only in 1908 was the Rolex brand name registered. Due to a struggling post-war economic climate in the UK, the company moved its headquarters to Geneva in 1920 and has been based in Switzerland ever since.
Since 1960 the Rolex company, alongside sister brand Tudor, has been owned by the Hans Waldorf foundation, and as such is a non-profit organisation. Despite this fact, the company has many thousands of employees and revenues in the $billions.
Rolex boast a number of important industry firsts and notable achievements, becoming synonymous with professional and sporting excellence along the way.
-
1910 - First wristwatch to receive the Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision.
-
1926 - First waterproof watch case and predecessor to the Oyster collection which is still being produced today.
-
1945 - First watch to have an automatically changing date on the dial.
-
1954 - First timepiece displaying two time zones.
-
1956 - introduction of the Day-Date as the first watch to display complete day alongside the date on dial.
-
2012 - First wristwatch to have a command bezel allowing multiple additional functions via the winding crown.
Rolex Servicing Frequency
Like all machines, regular servicing is essential in order to ensure the long term health of your Rolex. A well looked after watch will last a lifetime and still be functional for the next generation to enjoy.
We recommend your Rolex be serviced every 3 to 5 years. This will dramatically reduce the chance of expensive, and increasingly rare parts needing to be replaced due to preventable wear or damage.
It is in many cases a false economy to delay the servicing of your watch, waiting for a problem to arise. Should the worst happen, a full restoration can easily cost many multiples of a routine service, and should some parts of the watch such as dial and hands need replacing, could significantly diminish the value of your Rolex.
