TAG Heuer

As an Authorised TAG Heuer workshop, Crockett & Daw understand the sentimental and financial value of your watch. Our watchmakers are able to work on both quartz and mechanical timepieces with a range of maintenance options available. All serviced watches are covered by a two year warranty.

TAG Heuer Servicing Process

As an Authorised TAG Heuer workshop, all serviced watches are returned with a two year warranty. Using manufacturer approved, state of the art machinery and equipment we are able to bring your watch back to TAG Heuer standards in both functionality and appearance.
During the servicing of your watch, the movement is dismantled into it's individual components, with each being checked for wear or damage, and then cleaned using our ultrasonic cleaning machine. The movement is then reassembled and lubricated adhering to manufacturer guidelines throughout.
The case and bracelet are cleaned, with new gaskets fitted to ensure water resistance, before the movement, case and bracelet are reunited ready for post-service testing.
Case and bracelet refinishing is included as standard within the servicing process, but for those who prefer their watch to maintain its well earned patina, it can of course be excluded.

TAG Heuer History

In 1860, Edouard Heuer set up his watchmaking business, producing pocket watches for discerning customers of the era. This is the company that would later become TAG Heuer. An innovator from the start, Heuer filed the first of many patents in 1869, for a crown-operated winding system, doing away with the usual key wind method seen before.

Noting the increasing demand for precise timekeeping required needed during sporting events, Heuer designed its first pocket watch chronograph in 1882.

The progress continued and in 1914, one of the first chronograph wristwatches was released and by 1916, an impressive mechanism able to measure to 1/100th of a second was launched.

Such precise timing equipment saw Heuer as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games three times between 1920 and 1928 and company’s relationship with sporting personalities and events has continued ever since.

It was in 1985 that Heuer became TAG Heuer when Techniques d’Avant Garde, known as the TAG Group, acquired Heuer. With the quartz crisis firmly behind them, decades later the brand continues to flourish attracting fans from around the globe.

TAG Heuer Servicing Frequency

Like all machines, regular servicing is essential in order to ensure the long term health of your TAG Heuer watch. A well looked after watch will last a lifetime and still be functional for the next generation to enjoy. We recommend your TAG Heuer be serviced every 3 to 5 years.

TAG Heuer quartz models should have their battery changed every two to three years and all watches used in water should have routine water resistance testing and replacement gaskets every two years.
